You may ask yourself "Why am I learning all of these cocktails, many of which are not even common anymore".

I have populated this list with drink recipes to form your foundation in bartending skills

We have included many different types or categories of drinks to give you the knowledge to grow and understand what makes a cocktail taste the way it does.

For example, why the Banshee no one will ever order that one. The Banshee is made with two sweet liqueurs banana and chocolate along with cream.

This formula. translates to many other cocktails in existence as well as many you can create using that same formula.

Chambord, chocolate and cream

Bailey's, kahlua and cream

Mint, chocolate and cream

Frangelico, Chambord and cream

This formula. calls for combining the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, shaking and then straining into a cocktail glass.

How about a Pousse Cafe, you will probably never make one of these, right?

Wrong, everytime you layer a drink it is a child of the Pousse Cafe. The daddy of all layering.

The Apple Martini introduces us to adding a dominant flavor to a vodka martini.

This lets us know that we can use other flavors to create a sweet but still strong martini.

Watermelon
Peach
Strawberry
Blueberry

These are just some of the reasons for learning all of these cocktail recipes.

In all the years I have spent mixing drinks, each one of these cocktails were ordered at my bar. In the beginning I had to grab my recipe book to be sure that I was mixing it properly. I realized that was not very professional and I have since memorized each of these cocktails plus many more.

When a customer comes up to a bar and orders the drink that he has had many times before. You will be judged harshly if you do not come through with a great drink

That is the reality of it. you can be the bartender or you can b the great bartender. People will know the difference.
